Your Weekly Glimpse Into Sioux Falls Life

Presented By: Dakota Honey Company

Welcome back crew! Hope you had a great weekend and a fantastic start to the week yesterday. Feels like a long time since the last issue so I am quite glad to be back in your inbox today. Tons of things to share so enjoy this issue and I shall see you out there in the world.

I announced last week that the murder mystery is in the works and today I am happy to share that The War of the Roses will be at Minervas on July 11th. If you are looking for a great experience this summer, be sure to grab your seat and maybe invite a friend as well. There are only 20 seats available.

We also have the Dinner Club coming up in just about 2 weeks. Book your seat at that table and meet new friends.

3) Top with hamburger and sausage

Dinner Club: Have you attended a Dinner Club yet? I truly believe it is an experience everyone should try at least once.

At dinner, people have already gone from strangers to acquaintances to hanging out every week.

There is nothing that helps a relationship blossom more than food, and you can check out a new restaurant on a spontaneous whim with Dinner Club.

This month's dinner is on June 25th at 6:30pm. Book your seat today.

Dakota Honey: There is an event coming up that you are not going to want to miss, and I wanted to mention it early so you can mark your calendar.

Dakota Honey is having their Fill a Container event in August. Here is how it works:

  • Bring a jar of your choice. Any size works.
  • Rheanna and Zach will fill it to the brim at a price that will not break the bank.

You walk away with the best honey South Dakota has to offer and a great experience at a real bee farm.

Sign up to Dakota Honey's Newsletter to stay up to date!

Hartford Farmer's Market: The farmers market for the ages is coming up on June 25th from 5 to 8pm. This market features The Book Mobile, live music from Landon Weis, and food trucks like Murph's Butterguts, Rainy Day Coffee, and Creek Side Meats.

ATSF Flavor Guide: If you are new here or have been here for a while and you are still looking for new restaurants, look no further. We created the ultimate flavor guide for you.

Meet some of the young entrepreneurs coming to Lake Lorraine on June 25

Thursday, June 25th, dozens of kid-run businesses are opening their doors at Lake Lorraine, and the lineup might surprise you.

Yes, there's lemonade. There are baked goods. But there's also a custom soda bar with add-ons and flavors, handcrafted crochet animals and plushies, 3D-printed toys you can customize, homemade scented candles, paracord bracelets, and a three-week survival course taught by a kid.

Pool bags with handmade floating squishies, and a ring toss game where you can walk away with a prize. One vendor makes fire starters.

Another designs custom hair accessories.

One 11-year-old is launching a full neighborhood services business: lawn care, pet sitting, vacation home check-ins, and more.

There's even a booth with cat toys made from home-grown catnip, dog biscuits, and human ones too.

This is what the Acton Children's Business Fair looks like.

Every vendor picked their product, built their brand, set their prices, and figured out how to sell it, all on their own.

Two ways to support these kids:

Show up.
Sponsor the fair.
June 25th, 4 to 6:30 p.m. Bring cash. Admission is free. Help make this event possible.

Crew Spotlight

One thing I love about Sioux Falls that a lot of people overlook is how connected it feels without feeling crowded.

What stands out is how easy it is to stay connected to the people and places that matter. You can get across town in minutes, run into familiar faces, enjoy local events, and still have access to parks, trails, restaurants, and amenities that are usually found in much larger cities. The balance between convenience, community, and quality of life is something many residents don’t fully appreciate until they’ve lived elsewhere.

In many ways, Sioux Falls offers the benefits of a growing city while still holding onto the sense of community that can be hard to find in larger metropolitan areas.
