Welcome back. I hope your weekend treated you well. Mine did. Fam came into town, and we spent it around the grill, talking about nothing in particular, and burning s'mores past the point of rescue.
I'm also still thinking about Dinner Club last Thursday. We had our after party at the Attic Bar East, and I had a great time talking to old and new friends. If you haven't been to one of these yet, next month is the one. We're heading downtown, and there will be karaoke at the after party.
Now, let's dive into the newsletter. In this issue, lots of fun to be had.

[ The Falls Report]
THE SKY - Today will bring partly cloudy skies with a high of 86 degrees towards the evening. The UV Index is high at a 7, which means sunscreen is always a good idea. This morning is slightly windy, but it will calm down as the day goes on.
SUNSET - That South Dakota sunset will be alive at 8:16pm. Pro Tip: Grab a loved one, and travel down a gravel road. Watch the sunset away from city noise.
AT THE FALLS - 605 Made Night Market will be taking place this Saturday! This free event features local makers, chefs, and performers for a night filled with fun.
AROUND TOWN - The Equinox Rising Yoga Festival is happening on September 27th at McKennan Park and is an opportunity to take a moment for yourself, while surrounded by community. The best part 10% of proceeds will be donated to Feeding South Dakota.
SPOTTED - The Sunday Spinsters is an all-women book club that meets on every 5th Sunday of the month. They are hosting their first club on the 27th at The Hello Hi.
CREW SPOTLIGHT - I find the different eras of houses any neighborhood of Sioux Falls interesting. It amazes me the era can start in late 1800’s to the early 1980’s.

The World's Biggest Satellite Photo Album Lives in Garretson
Sioux Falls has changed a lot in the last few years. New neighborhoods where there used to be cornfields, and roads that didn't exist ten years ago. It's easy to notice change when it's happening in your own backyard.
But just northeast of town, tucked into the small town of Garretson, sits a facility that's been watching the entire planet change for over fifty years.
The Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center is a U.S. Geological Survey facility, and it's one of the most important scientific operations in the country. EROS uses satellite and aerial imagery to track how land use, land cover, coastlines, forests, farmland, and cities shift over time.
It's easy to assume "important federal science" happens somewhere else, Washington. Houston. Silicon Valley. Not fifteen minutes from Falls Park.
The truth is, you don't need a badge or a security clearance to walk through EROS. The center is genuinely open to the public, and it's free.
- Where: 47914 252nd St., Garretson, SD, about ten miles north of Sioux Falls.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed federal holidays).
- Guided tours: Free, roughly 45 minutes, offered daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Self-guided visits: Welcome anytime during business hours if you'd rather explore at your own pace.
Free parking passes are issued at the security checkpoint when you arrive, so budget a few extra minutes for check-in.
And if you are still curious afterwards, the center's own podcast, Eyes on Earth, digs into remote sensing and land-change science in plain language.
