What beautiful weather we’ve been having, but you better saddle up because it looks like we are in for some bipolar weather this week. This week, there are a lot of Easter festivities happening around town, lots of experiences for you and your loved ones to share. Last week, I highlighted the Acton Children’s Fair coming up in June, I thought it was such a great opportunity for the young minds you guys have, and the community as a whole, so mark your calendar for that. This week, I found something pretty neat from MarketBeat (they’re hosting a lunch and learn) and wanted to share that real quick, so if it tickles your fancy, mark your calendar for that as well and share with friends.
Before you dive in, I want to say thank you. I don’t say that often but seriously, thank you for being a crew member of ATSF. Em and I appreciate you guys taking time to read this newsletter every Tuesday, we appreciate the feedback, opportunities for growth, and the connections we have made along the way.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what other events you would be interested in to get you more involved in community and out of the house! Dinner Club will be a recurring, once a month, event to get you out of your shell, and mingling with complete strangers. (But hey, you wont leave strangers). As always, we value your ideas and opinions - and everything we do here is ran by Crew Member Input, so go ahead and use the poll to let us know what events you would be inclined to participate in.
15 days from our next dinner club on the south side of town. So far, we have 81 seats booked so be sure to book your seat today. Here's how the dinner works:
You fill out a quick quiz, your food obsessions, what you're into, the kind of people you vibe with. We do the rest.
We'll pair you up with five other locals we think you'll actually like. Expect something interesting and come with an open mind.
The morning of, you'll get the details, which restaurant, who's at your table (emojis only), and once again, show up with an open mind.
Show up Wednesday, April 16th at 630 PM, eat great food, and meet some people who might just become your new favorite humans. And if we're all still having a blast after dinner, we'll pull everyone together for an after party. Totally optional so zero guilt if you need to go home and pass out on your couch.
This week's find is an awesome event coming up soon for a great cause. I found out through Matt Paulsen's email newsletter that MarketBeat is hosting a Lunch & Learn featuring Bread Break. What I love about it is the fact that they're making it dead simple to show up and learn something that actually matters. Free tacos, a 45-minute presentation, and you're out by 1:00.
Here's what grabbed me: Bread Break volunteers are out every single day picking up surplus food from over 50 local partners and getting it to more than 20,000 people right here in Sioux Falls. Last year alone, 400,000 pounds of food were saved from going straight to the landfill.
Executive Director Pam Cole will be there to walk through the mission, and MarketBeat is covering the taco bar. The event is capped at 80 people and RSVPs are free, but they need a headcount to order food, so you'll want to grab your spot now before it fills up.
Lunch opens at 11:45, presentation runs 12:15 to 1:00.
The Flower Bar: You know that special person in your life, that can get on your nerves faster than anyone else? That person that humbles you, even when you don't ask for it? Yes. Them. Show your appreciation for their love with a flower subscription from the Flower Bar, these aren't just any flowers, they are the most luxurious, vibrant, and original.
The Flavor Guide: Inside the Flavor Guide, You'll Embark On A Burger Quest, Set Out On A Slice & Sauce Adventure, Seek Sublime Sandwiches, Take Your Tastebuds On A World Tour, & Enjoy Breakfast Worth Waking Up For!
Dakota Fizz: Meet Mikayla and Keegan Nordquist a husband/wife duo that makes any dream become a reality. Dakota Fizz is a custom dirty soda bar...on wheels. You can book The Fizz Trailer for your next event! Great addition to a birthday party, Wedding Event, and graduations!
