All Things Sioux Falls

Ready to stroll through another week of Sioux Falls? Grab your coffee, let’s ride this wave.

What's Up Crew?

Today's newsletter is brought to you by the number 55... this is the approximate number of times my kids have asked me to play, "The Danny Go Theme Song" today...

Can you believe it is October already? Oh my Gourd! Time truly does fly when you are having fun. Sioux Falls has a lot to offer this week, from action-packed fall events and Sword Fighting to Chili Tasting and Live Music, there is sure to be an event that will even peak your husband's interest!

Speaking of events, do you have a club or group that you love to be a part of? I would love to get acquainted, send the details here to share with other Sioux Falls locals!
Fun Fact: Did You Know Locals Who Participate In Groups/Clubs Are 24% More Likely To Report Feeling Happy? :)

Last week, "Tidal" our Sioux Falls sidekick was introduced, and you will learn a little more about him today!

Enough chit-chat, lets' get into it.

In today’s exposé:

  • Dine @ Harvester Kitchen By Bryan

  • Dance @ Woody's Pub and Grill

Tidal, Take It Away!

~ Godwin

"" Tidal Talks:

Whew! This week is going to be a nice one folks, yesterday was HOT! LIKE HOT HOT, and we won't see a peaking temp below the comfortable 75 degrees for the rest of the week!

Today is said to be one of the BEST days to harvest your above-ground garden crops according to The Farmers Almanac. So, head out to your garden or a friend's garden, maybe Grandma's garden, pick off a tomato, and let me know if it is the juiciest, most flavorful tomato you have ever tasted.

While Sioux Falls may have its flaws (as does any Midwest town), the community thrives when it comes to rallying for a cause. With winter approaching, Kidz N Coats is offering a Winter Coat Drive at next weeks' Falls Park Farmers Market! This is an amazing program that offers winter coats for children of all ages from birth to 18 years!

Saturday October 11 | Falls Park Farmers Market | 4:00pm-6:30pm

There are thousands of kids, right here in Sioux Falls that are in need of a blessing, and if you find yourself in a position to offer your time or resources - thank you! Your gift is snow-joke.

Tidal Tales - Meet Your Curious Guide

Every city has stories. Some hide in plain sight, others wait for a curious pair of eyes to discover them. In Sioux Falls, those eyes belong to me, Tidal.

I wasn’t born from a book or a comic. I was born from curiosity, wonder, and a love for adventure. Like the waves, I want to flow through the city, touching every corner, every story, every person.

Think of me as your friendly guide, part of the community, part observer, part storyteller. I may be small, I may be new, but my curiosity is endless. I cannot wait to take you along on every Tidal Tale.

With this week marking the first week of October, the holiday season is approaching fast.

And while the colorful lights, and ambiance of joy captures your heart, financially, the holidays can bring stress. So, I have compiled a few FUN Budgeting Games to get the whole family involved in starting to plan ahead for those holiday shopping spree's!

5 Fun Ways To Save For The Holidays!

1) Roll The Dice

How To: Once a week, sit down with the whole family and roll 2 dice! Take the total x2 and stash it away for Christmas Presents! (At a max stash away of $24.00 at a time, this is a super cost-effective way to save for the little costs that pop up!)

2) No Spend Bingo

How To: Once a month, sit down with the family and make bingo cards with squares like, "No Coffee Bought Today", "Homework completed", or "No Impulse Amazon Buy" and cross off your Bingo Boards as the weeks go! (Every Row Saved = $10 Towards The Christmas Fund!)

3) "Harvest" Your Change

How To: You could do this daily, but you could do it weekly, or bi-weekly! Round up all of your change, including bills, and stash it away in a special container.

4) Cash-Back Holiday Fund

How To: Take advantage of savings you get at retail stores! When you check out, the receipt will tell you "You Saved $2.00 Today!" and that means you put $2.00 into your holiday fund! (You can also use coupon savings, rebates, and fuel savers!)

5) The Reindeer Race

How To: Assign each family member a reindeer name (dasher, dancer, ect. Each week, track how much each person saves from allowance/chores. Move their reindeer marker along a racetrack.

The “winner” gets a silly holiday perk (chooses the movie that week, holiday snack, or tree decor!).

The Bulletin

Do you have an event, promotion, or business worth pinning? Advertise on The Bulletin Board and stick around in the minds of locals!

Thank You To This Weeks' Amazing Local Partners!

Emelia: To free herself from the organization that raised her and made her lethal - she arranged her death, by suicide.
And so, one day, she got up on a bridge, looked down at the flowing river and fell.
But, that wouldn’t be the end of her. A young man saw this and saved her. And nothing on earth could prepare her for what happened next.

Professional Management Inc: It seems like we have all had a bad housing experience in our lives. Whether it was a difficult landlord, disrespectful roommate, or money hungry realtor - your ideals were not taken into consideration, and communication was... well sub-par at best.
The team at Professional Management Inc, understands your struggles because we have been through the same thing! We bring respectful communication, timely execution, and an impeccable track record. Property management reimagined, property management the way it was supposed to be.

The Oyolys: A trip to Germany went sour when Peter found out his girlfriend had died in a terrorist attack. Left with pain in his heart, he thought of the only thing that could bring them closer together. He thought of death. So, alone one day, he took a blade to his wrist. And as he cut himself, he found out something he never knew. His body regenerates.
With this revelation, his life took a wild turn as an unknown man showed up to help him.
You can find out what happens to Peter by ordering the oyolys today.
