If this weekβs weather had a personality, it would be about as indecisive as I am when it comes to deciding what I want to eat. Sunshine, snow, windβ¦ weβve truly spun the seasonal wheel.
Last week was full of local fun, I made my way to the ABBA Tribute at the Orpheum Theatre, and let's just say the crowd fully committed to their inner "Dancing Queen" and honestly, so did I. Later in the week, I met up with Chelsey from 605 Hat Haus at We Rock The Spectrum and created a unique hat that has reigned in the compliments ever since! β Looking forward to this week, there are plenty of chances to get out, get involved, and maybe even meet your new favorite people. The Cozy Corner is stacked with volunteer opportunities you won't regret, plus Iβm excited to introduce three new businesses getting ready to call Sioux Falls home. But before we move on, CONGRATULATIONS TO CREW MEMBER, Raisa Fritz on winning the VIP Fool House: Ultimate 90's Party Experience! We are so excited for you, and expect some pictures for proof of your good time ;)

Did you know there is upwards of 29 Murals in Sioux Falls? You've probably driven past them a hundred times without really stopping to look, a burst of color on the side of a building downtown, river walks, or a scene on a brick wall of a staple business. Sioux Falls has quietly become a city where the walls have something to say.
In addition to the sculpture walk, the city currently tracks over two dozen murals spread across Sioux Falls and local artists have been a big part of that story. Artists like Glenn Krupka, Zach DeBoer, and Chuck Bennis have left their mark on Sioux Falls in a big way. Have you ever wondered if walls could talk, what they would say? What is the meaning behind these murals?
" Wall of Nobility" on Sunny's Pizzeria by Wyatt Dickson painted 7/27/2021
Some of the most recognizable pieces cluster around 6th Street and Phillips Avenue, where five separate murals sit practically side by side, a celebration of local identity, nature, and community all in one block.
Others are tucked away in unexpected spots: a railroad scene on the side of Monk's Ale House, a galaxy-themed ceiling at a coffee shop, a patio wrapped in color on a rooftop bar, or an airplane landing in a parking garage.
I want to share with you some history behind the mural found in Meldrum Park, "The World Comes to Whittier" was painted in 2013.
The idea was born from a middle school classroom assignment in which students were asked how to improve their neighborhood.
What started as an eighth-grade project became a collaboration between the over 200 community members, local students, and lead artist Dave Loewenstein, painted onto a wall that had previously been a graffiti target.
Another honorable mention is the "Sioux Falls Wall of Notability" a large mural that depicts the past, and present of the rich Sioux Falls history, and some of those who have helped shape our community. Artist Wyatt Dickson brought the mural to life in 2021.
