We've had an adventurous weekend, hope you did too.
Happy Mother's Day again to all the moms reading this. We love you, appreciate you, and are just so thankful for you.
Hey crew, quick thing before we get into it. You know what I love about this city? There is so much I have not explored yet and new things keep popping up every week. I think I am going to look back in a couple of years and say "wow, so much has changed."
A quick reminder that ATSF Crew Rewards is ongoing. I emailed about it last week and so far we have a lot of giveaway entries for the month and a few Crew Card winners already.
Congrats to Missy Fraser, Glynn, and John from Sunny Radio for winning a Crew Card!
Once again this is one of our ways to say thank you. Thanks for being part of the crew, always reading and connecting online and in real life.
This issue has Kingbird Coffee, a free guide for pregnant mamas, and Shinedown is coming to Sioux Falls.
Before we get into it, I want to try something new. Reply to this email with one thing you love about Sioux Falls that most people overlook. Include your name and what you do. The best ones go into next week's new section: Crew Spotlight. I cannot wait to read what you send.
Let's get right in.
"You are growing a human. You deserve to feel good while you do it." ~ Dr. Emily
If there is one thing I took away from talking to Dr. Emily and Dr. Bailee last week, it is that you do not have to be okay with living through pain.
Somewhere along the line it became normal to tell women that pain is just part of the process. And that should not be normalized.
The rib pain. The SI joint pressure. The back pain that will not quit. The headaches that follow you through every single day. None of that is inevitable. It is common. But common and inevitable are two very different things.
Some may think chiropractic care is just for back pain relief, but Nurture Family Chiro digs deeper than that.
The spine is the communication highway for your nervous system, allowing your brain to talk to every other organ, tissue, and cell in your body.
Editing the Videos I took with Dr. Emily and Dr. Bailee showed me just how much passion they have for every woman who walks through their doors.

Dr. Emily Keefer and Dr. Bailee Schultz are perinatal chiropractors in the Sioux Falls area. And the thing that bothers them most is how many women they see who had no idea help was available. Their bodies were not broken. Pregnancy just asks a lot, and nobody told them it did not have to feel that way.
She wrote a guide. It is free. And if you are pregnant right now, or know someone who is, it is worth every minute it takes to read.
Inside the guide you will find out why your pelvis is doing more work than you realize, and what happens when it stops getting the support it needs.
You will learn what the Webster Technique actually is, because it is not what most people think.
You will understand why your nervous system has more to do with how your labor goes than any breathing technique you have been taught.
And you will read the stories of real moms in this area who came in with rib pain, SI joint pressure, breech babies, and chronic back pain, and what happened once their body stopped compensating and started working the way it was designed to.
One mom came in during her third trimester with a breech baby. A few sessions later, some exercises to do at home, and her baby flipped on its own. Her body just finally had what it needed to do the job.
Another mom, on her third pregnancy, wrote: "This labor was the easiest and fastest compared to my previous and I truly believe that Dr. Emily played a big role in this. This is the best my body has ever felt postpartum."
You can get the guide right now, completely free. It will not cost you anything except a few minutes. And it might change the way you or a friend experience pregnancy.

THIS WEEK'S FIND 🔍
This weekend I took a gander over to Brandon to help a friend with her garage sale. On my way I stopped for a cup of coffee at Kingbird Coffee Shop and ended up leaving with knowledge of events to fill your whole weekly calendar, local offerings, and a great overall experience.
Kingbird Coffee opened in 2019 in central Brandon and they have created much more than a coffee shop. They are a central hub for the community, hosting events every day of the week.
A few examples being crafting nights, movie days, book clubs, LEGO builds and bingo, as well as being a great stop to host your own event such as a bridal shower or birthday party.
The baristas were particularly excited to share that every Sunday they offer bottomless pancakes. They even have a little competition to see who can eat the most and the record is sitting at 17 total flapjacks.
The shop is decked out from ceiling to floor in vibrant colors and textures. The walls are filled with local art for sale, each piece with a short note about the artist.
There is a gaming area that transports you back in time and plenty of seating for you to work, converse, or get into your creative zone.
You know that feeling you get when you walk into a new coffee shop and you are not quite sure what to order?
I typically play it safe, but Kingbird has a whole wall of Employee Favorites complete with monthly specials, which made it so easy to pick something delicious without being overwhelmed.
I chose a drink with locally sourced honey paired with one of their bagel sandwiches. Kingbird uses Black Hills Bagels in a variety of flavors.
If you are passing through Brandon, stop in. Order something off the Employee Favorites wall. You will not regret it.
