Cliff Avenue Greenhouse

Picture this: the sun is setting, the garden is in full bloom, and you and your favorite people are wandering through rows of the most beautiful plants, sipping something cold, and laughing until your cheeks hurt.

That's exactly the evening Cliff Avenue Greenhouse is planning for you.

The Annual Garden Party is back, and she's better than ever. One night only, exclusively at the 26th Street location. Where the doors open, the deals flow, and everything feels a little more magical than usual.

Here's what's waiting for you inside:

🌸Special discounts on gourmet food, Strawberry, Rhubarb, Herbs, Pansies, Onions, and Asparagus plants, Sol Soils, and succulents. One evening only.

🌸Giveaways every 30 minutes. Stay a while. You might just leave with more than you came for.

🌸Refreshments and gourmet food samples all night long, because an empty glass and an empty stomach are not on the guest list.

🌸Sip while you shop. Honestly, the only way to do it.

And it's completely free to attend. Cliff Avenue Greenhouse will see you there.

THIS WEEK'S FIND 🔍

There is a room in Sioux Falls on April 25th where grown adults will be dressed as their favorite horror villains, standing in line to shake hands with the cast of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, and having the time of their lives doing it.

That room is The Social. The event is Screams by Night | Halfway to Halloween Con. And it is exactly what it sounds like.

Every year the horror community picks a date that lands roughly halfway between one Halloween and the next, and they throw a convention to tide themselves over. This year that date is April 25th, 11 AM to 5 PM, and Sioux Falls is getting one.

The guest list I dove into and is legitimate. Brinke Stevens made her name in Slumber Party Massacre. Michelle Bauer starred in Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers. Doug Murano is the founder and CEO of Bad Hand Books. Kelsey and Steve Livengood have credits in Night of the Dead Sorority Babes, Clown Motel 2, Grind, and Attack of the Corn Zombies.

Beyond the guests there are vendors, spooky art, collectibles, and horror memorabilia to dig through. Come in costume if you want. Most people will.

Tickets are ten dollars online, fifteen at the door. Kids under 10 get in free.

AvalonV: Is your marketing bleeding you dry?

If you are currently spending money on ads, have recently hired a marketing agency, or are about to invest in marketing for your local business, I have vital experience-based information your current agency may not tell you and may not even know.

Dakota Fizz: This mobile Dirty Soda Trailer is making waves in local communities with unique, one-of-a-kind drinks that leave you wanting more. Recently, I found that they offer "DIY Kits" for your upcoming party or nights in with the kids. The box comes with everything needed to make a soda with your special twist.

Don't know what a "dirty soda" is yet? Check out the menu here!

Sew Doggy Boutique: We have also partnered with Karli, a dog mom located right next door in Tea, and owner of Sew Doggy Boutique, a shop that does custom bandanas, collars, and accessories for your furry friend. Submit your pet for, "Pet of the Week" and get entered for a chance to win a $20.00 gift card to Sew Doggy!

Nautical Bowls: April 6th was National Acai Day and here is why you need to stop into Nautical Bowls here in Sioux Falls to celebrate: These South American berries are packed with Fiber, Antioxidants, and Omega 3s.
What does this actually mean?
Acai can help lower risks of heart disease, cancer, and high cholesterol. Buy a Cruiser, get a Kayak FREE at Nautical Bowls Sioux Falls. Tell Them All Things Sioux Falls Sent you!

Tasks on your Homes To-Do List this Spring:

Winter is almost fully behind us, and just what you want to hear: these are a few more things to add to your already packed schedule.

1) Clean Your Gutters & Downspouts
Now, this may seem like something that is obvious, but let's be honest, climbing up on a ladder to look into your gutters is not the most appealing of tasks, but it is necessary.
Even if you have gutter guards, tree debris can get clogged, especially with the high winds we have had.

2) Soak the Sump Pump
This one can get missed because a sump pump is something you think about only when you need it, but it is a great idea to dump a bucket of water in the pit, and make sure the pump kicks on.

3) Caulk Windows & Doors
Grab some exterior caulk for a few dollars and run your finger along the seals on your exterior windows and doors to fill any gaps or cracked caulk. Air going right out the window is a leading cause of electricity bills spiking in the summer. Air isn't the only thing that is going right out the window, so is your money.

4) Rent A Power Washer
Renting a power washer from Ace Hardware, or Runnings for a few hours can make your house look brand new! A few things you can pressure wash around your house include: sidewalks, decks, siding, fences, dog kennels, garage floor, and your outdoor furniture.

5) Flush Water Heater
Sediment can build up over winter, and tanks get especially stressed heading into high-use summer months.

6) Refill or Replace your Emergency Kit
We have already had to replace ours. With three littles, we try to make sure we always have bandages, burn cream, and antiseptics on hand. Emergency kits can also include flashlights, radio, and blankets.

Do you have tasks that need to get done, but no one to do them? Here are a few local handymen that can help you straighten out even the smallest of tasks!
