Good morning Sioux Falls Crew,
It is Tuesday again, and I hope you are welcoming the new month with grace (and if not, don't worry, it is the shortest month of the year).
Activities around town are about to get a whole lot louder with football fans far and wide, that is right, Its Super Bowl Week! Who are you rooting for? Unfortunately, my team did not make it in this year (a moment of silence) ...they never make it lol
Not a football fan? No worries. The season of love is right around the corner, and Valentine’s Day is warming up the calendar. If you haven’t picked out something special yet, might we suggest a gift that never disappoints... cake.
Which brings us to today’s very important announcement: it’s National Carrot Cake Day. Click the link for a recipe so you can celebrate properly and reign in the day with a little homemade sweetness.
If cake is not your vibe, next issue might give you a few ideas...(Spoiler Alert)
Note: 10 more days till the next dinner club, 49 crew member already signed up. If you'd like to join us on the 12th of February, this is your sign.
Well, that is enough chitchat for me, let's get into today's newsletter!
In today's issue:
- Tidal hits the Market
- Fat Shack has late night eats you wont be able to resist
- An Initiative to keep Sioux Falls Flowing

Hiya friends,
This week, I had some free time on my paws, when a lovely local business reached out and invited me to stop by. And let me tell you, I’m sure glad I did. I had no idea this place even existed.
Gee, let me not keep you in suspense any longer.... Have you ever heard of The Fair Market Grocery Store? It is located at 2511 S Minnesota Avenue right here in Sioux Falls. I’ll admit, weaving through cars in the parking lot felt like a game of Frogger, but once I waddled through the doors, I was stunned by how big it was inside.
Would you believe me If I told you that Fair Market has discounted products for more than half off of retail price? Sustainability at its finest. I filled my cart with chicken, meatballs, and taco fixings (yes otters love tacos too).
While chatting with some of the fine folks shopping alongside me, I learned they get new product deliveries every week. That means every visit brings fresh surprises and new deals to sniff out.
As an otter roaming the streets of Sioux Falls, you could say I’m ballin’ on a budget. Fair Market keeps a few extra coins in my pocket so I can spend them wisely…and by wisely I mean stopping at Fat Shack later.
Anyways, check out Fair Market if you get the chance, and let me know what treasures you find.
Your thrifty friend,
Tidal

Fat Shack: Late Night Done Right: Fat Shack is open at 401 E 8th Ave #128, serving bold, over-the-top comfort food like Angus burgers, wings, loaded Fat Sandwiches, milkshakes, and deep-fried desserts.
Open late for every craving. Dine in, take out, or get it delivered. 🍔🔥 I tried it a while back and my days, it is FILLING! FILLING!
With the 2nd year of the newsletter on its way today, we're teasing out an initiative that'll be called "Keep Sioux Falls Flowing."
This initiative will create a way for us to contribute to the community, and with businesses announcing closures weekly, it is more important than ever to keep it local and keep Sioux Falls Flowing.
"What does this mean?" you ask.
Well, it truly just means that we'll be working on being more hands on throughout the community in this year. Highlighting businesses in a unique way, that showcases the faces behind the brick and mortars, getting the word out about volunteer opportunities around town, and creating opportunities for YOU to get involved.
We Invision a local podcast with some of awesome humans that live in Sioux Falls, and hey, we even want to showcase you, your story, your inspirations.
We are currently working on a business directory that'll be based on your recommendation alone. We want All Things Sioux Falls to truly be your one-stop-read for ALL things Sioux Falls, by real people - you.
Not only that, but Emma also finished up this Local Food Guide that you just have to check out 😳 She spent the last 2 months pouring her heart and soul into it.
Our goal with "Keep Sioux Falls Flowing" is simply to do our very best to be a positive impact in the community, doing great things for you, for the wonderful businesses we should all support, and so much more.
As everything gets polished, we'll be sharing weekly in the newsletter and also on socials.
Note: we're looking for a graphic artist to create something for us. If you are one or know someone, do reach out :))
Enough rambling now, Let's check out the Pet Of The Week!
