We’re Trying Something New in Sioux Falls

Your Weekly Glimpse Into Sioux Falls Life

Good Morning Sioux Falls Crew,

Happy Tuesday! The sunlight came out yesterday for a bit and it felt nice! Hope you were able to bask in it :)) Our kiddos spent time throwing snowball at each others. We have some great events, and opportunities for connection this week.

Before we dive in, I do want to share that the All Things Sioux Falls Dinner Club is a go. We had 100% approval last week so we're all set. The first dinner will be Downtown Sioux Falls on Wednesday the 7th of January. I'll be signing up, Emma will be signing up and we hope to see you signed up as well :)

In today's issue:

🎹South Dakota Local, Matthew Mayer takes over the Orpheum Theatre

🍽 Meet new friends in the Dinner Club

🎣Angle your way to the top on your next fishing trip

Let Music Move You This Holiday

You can get to know Matthew a little more, stream his music, and even download sheet music of your own here!

Matthew Mayer’s story starts in Canistota, South Dakota. At the age of 12, he found a chemistry with the piano, a spark that never faded. Inspired by solo-piano icon George Winston, he began performing for patients at Ortman Chiropractic, where his “crowd” was sometimes only two people. But that’s where he learned how to share a feeling, not just a melody.

In college, he scraped together every dollar he had to record his first album. That leap of faith grew into more than 20 albums and a #1 spot on the Billboard charts.

And now he’s coming home.

After selling out the Belbas Theater last year, Matthew is here this week for his Holiday and Dreams Performance at the Orpheum Theater, and he brings an unforgettable energy that will move your soul to the core.

His music is more than a melody; it is a story. If you listen closely, you can hear it.

Congratulations to our Giveaway winner who won Tickets to Matthew's Performance this Thursday!

Breaking Bread, and Savings Bucks

We asked, and you answered! After the whole crew voted, the answer was a clear yes, and we’re happy to announce that the Discount Card and Dinner Club are officially active and ready for your participation! Yes, both. At the same time. We’re on a roll.

Taking the leap to get involved in the community can feel uncomfortable at first. The Discount Card makes it easier to support local businesses while keeping a few extra dollars in your pocket throughout the whole year!

60% of sales will be going to the Foster Network!

The Dinner Club

It's time to meet our neighbors, get connected and see where dinner takes us.
This is our first dinner like this in Sioux Falls.

If it goes well, and I think it will, we will be doing these regularly around town.

If you have questions, there is a little chat bubble at the bottom right of the page when you sign up. Hope to see you there.

Here's how the dinner club works:

Our first dinner is happening on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 6:30PM. Dinner reservation fee is $13.99 per seat.

You will cover your own meal at the restaurant. I will handle everything else including the quiz, matching everyone up, making the reservations, and sending reminders. All you have to do is show up, meet some new people, and enjoy the night. So in short,

  • Take the personality quiz, tell us your food allergies and what type of people you're looking to hangout with...and we'll match you 5 other All Things Sioux Falls crew members.
  • We book the restaurant and will send you the invite the morning of the dinner. Just show up ready to enjoy a great dinner and connect with new friends. The first Sioux Falls Dinner Club will be held on January 7th @ 6:30pm
  • Discover the secret after-party. After dinner ends, all tables unite at a surprise spot. This is totally optional.

Hiya my dear friends, my adventure this last week took me downtown. I was strolling, shivering, trying to make sure I was warm. Needing something nice to drink, I looked up at the Building right next to me and saw the sign "La Luna Cafe."

"That ought to be fantastic," I thought and so I walked up the stairs and ding, inside the cozy warm cafe I went. I was greeted with a smile which brought a smile to my face. And I stepped back for a few moments, looking at the board to figure out what drink I might have for myself.

"Brr" I shared off the cold I brought inside and glanced right at the bottom right corner, the words "La Luna." I gasped and walked up to the counter. I shall have the La Luna, I uttered.

Few minutes later, I was handed a warm La Luna Latte and ahhhh, what a delight. My friends, if you haven't visited La Luna at the Cascade, well, today's your chance to do so!

Till next time,
Tidal
